The exciting new Playground at Adelaide Zoo was completed and opened for the public to enjoy late 2015. This new playspace was designed and created to blend in with its exotic surroundings, facilitate for all ages and incorporate disabled access; allowing it to be enjoyed by everyone.

This new bespoke tower play structure within Nature's Playground, right next door to the Hippo exhibit and Reptile House features three timber pods with adjoining footbridges and a variety of play elements including: slides, nets, and hanging chimes, and also acts as a viewing platform over a few sections of the Zoo.

The new structure delighted many visitors on its very successful opening on Tuesday evening, with children and parents alike taking advantage of the newfound excitement curated in Nature's playground.

This project was delivered using our DesignExecute™ model. Our team took this project from design collaboration through to construction on site, in close collaboration with Adelaide Zoo, WAX Design and Ric Mcconaghy Playspaces. It was designed / constructed to not only excite and achieve its individual look, but also for stability and durability. In order to achieve the desired strength and durability in such a unique structure a varitey of high quality materials were used:

- Kiln dried hardwood pods
- Hardwood decking
- FRP mini mesh bridge decking
- Hardwood balustrades / handrails
- Steel mesh balustrade on bridges
- Stainless steel slides
