The Moon Wall is an art mural affixed to a feature wall of The Ponds’. Similar to the ‘Float’ and the Dragonfly Wall, this artist vision also needed to be realised by a manufacturer who had the technical expertise and ability to deliver the intricate componentry.

Working from architectural drawings, we created a CAD design, and then used a laser cutter on Coreten steel to cut out the lettering for the mural. These Aboriginal words do, as the name of the artwork implies, pertain to various elements of space and the elements. We installed the steel sheets 10mm off the wall to create a shadow line and to prevent staining on the concrete as the Coreten steel rusted (by design). Stainless steel circles representing craters of the moon were then laser cut and chemically anchored to the wall.
